My brother David came up with the idea of going on a cricket trip to England and we spoke about our father, Graham, who conducted his own cricket trip back in 1986. Dads trip being the motivating factor and of course our own passion of playing cricket in England, we decided to have a look at some of his old files. To our astonishment, most of the files contained plans that Dad was to going to conduct another tour in 1987.
Dad passed away suddenly late in 1986 and of course his touring plans came to an abrupt holt. Looking over some of his original paperwork, we found the names and addresses of clubs they were set to play.

We must have sent over 50 letters all over England, seeking clubs to play against. The response was overwhelming and we actually had to say no to a few clubs as we couldn't fit them in.
Word spread of the trip and our original plans to take 14 cricketers blew out to 23.........We were more than happy with the quality of player and character we have attracted.
The name WATTLESPRIGS stemmed from the famous David Boon poem that sounded out after every Aussie test win.......Under the Southern Cross I stand..........All our uniforms and cricket attire have been specifically embroided with this logo.
